CONSULTANTS

He joined SJGH in 1998. He has been a Board Certified Consultant for past 27 years. He obtained his overseas training from Royal Princes Alfred Hospital and New Children Hospital, Sydney Australia. He has worked at General Hospital Kandy before joining SJGH. He is a member of Cardiothoracic Specialty Board PGIM. He has won Varusapillai Gabriel Memorial Gold Medal for best performance in MS Examination in 1992.

She joined SJGH in 1995 as a permanent medical officer. She has been a Board Certified Consultant for past 15 years. She obtained her overseas training from University of Southern California - KECK School of Medicine and the Norris Cancer Hospital - USA. She was the Secretary of College of Pathologists for 2 years. She also served as secretary of Ethical Review Committee and Clinical Society SJGH. She is currently the Secretary of the Board of Study in Pathology and she is the co-coordinator in Pathology for the National Screening Programme.

She joined SJGH in 2001. She has been a Board Certified Consultant for the past 08 year. She obtained her overseas training from Kings College Hospital, London, U.K and specialized Immuno Haematology training at International Blood Group Reference Laboratory, Bristol, UK and NHS BT, Colindale & Tooting, UK. She has a number of publications in highly commended journals such as British Journal of Haematology, Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Vox Sanguinis. She is also a receiver of Dr. Harold Gunson Fellowships. She is the editor of College of Transfusion Physicians of Sri Lanka for 2014 and she had been the editor of Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (Sri Lankan Chapter) in 2011-2012.

Dr.Buddhi Abeywickrama is a valuable team member of the SJGH Radiology department which offers an array of services such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound Scan, Mammography, DSA Angiogram, 4 Vessel Angiogram of the brain.

She has been a Board Certified Consultant for the last 10 years. She obtained her overseas training Royal Infirmary Newcastle, Freeman Hospital Newcastle, United Kingdom. She has worked in Base Hospital Kahawatte, Base Hospital Marawila and Lady Ridgeway Hospital prior to joining Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital.

He is the Consultant Physician in charge of Ward 12 at SJGH. He obtained his overseas training at Royal Free Hospital United Kingdom. He joined SJGH in 2000. He has been a Board Certified Physician for past 18 years. He has worked at Polonnaruwa General Hospital before joining SJGH. He has published three papers in BMJ on Haematology. He has awarded the Presidential award for research for his CMJ-14 articles.

She has worked at the Faculty of Medical Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura - Dept. of Pathology, before joining the SJGH. She obtained her overseas training from Royal Free Hospital, London, UK. She served as the Secretary, Treasurer, President Elect 2015 and a Council member at Sri Lanka College of Hematologists. She was the president of Clinical Society SJGH. She has done studies on Multiple Myeloma - Oxford Publications UK-2007 and Multiple Myeloma - Journal of SLCH-2012, Case Report on Hypereosinophilic syndrome-CMJ-2010, Poster Presentation and Publications in the Abstract Book of the PGIM-2005, Poster Presentation and Publications in the Abstract Book of the SLCH- 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012.
